Sometimes cover pages don't look good

Postby mrki444 » 17 May 2026, 19:10

This is how Wax Museum show Top Gun movie as poster. As we can see it didn't went well. I guess there was some better examples but this is not. Some say it is version from Temu or 'for poors'.

There is something very strange looking about Tom Cruise in that photo. I don't think he would appreciate it :) I wonder what went wrong and why it turned out like that.

I guess the Top Gun movie chose a cover page that was suited for its time.

The issue might be from the editor, or they might have had a reason for choosing that.

Yeah yeah yeah, the cover page doesn't really look great, but the plot of the movie was thrilling! It was a highest grossing film at that time or so, I think 1986. That time too, this movie led to massive navy recruitment and made Tom Cruise a superstar.

You know the adage that says, "don't judge a book by it's cover"?? I think this topic best explains it.
