My daughter is a zombie

Postby Netherrealmer » 11 Aug 2025, 01:30

I wish I know what streaming service airs this. Its about a single dad and grandma trying to hide his daughter because she became a zombie. He wants to hide her from government, zombie hunters and news reporters because she is the only one he have left. Despite being a zombie she hasn't eaten humans and it seemed like her memories are returning because he is able to train her like a dog.

Lol am pretty sure it's going to be a comedy, it's going to be fun to watch though. You will probably see it on YouTube as well.

Okay, this sounds wildly specific and also like something I now desperately need to watch. 😂 A zombie daughter being trained like a dog? A grandma in on the secret? Government cover-ups? Sign me up!

I did some digging, and it might be "Zomboat!" (a UK comedy about zombies) or "Santa Clarita Diet" (though that’s more about a mom-turned-zombie). But honestly, your description feels like a mashup of "The Last of Us" and "Cargo"—but with dark comedy?

Yes it's definitely going to be comedy for most part, with maybe getting a little dark when the government finds out about the daughter.

Thanks for this. I'm going to put it on my watch list. I have to wait, though. I can't find it on the US streaming platform. It's on Netflix in Korea.

This may sound painful, but if a loved one of mine turn into a zombie, I will just kill the person and end their misery. But yeah, in this movie, the dad tries to fight for his daughter's life, so he tries to train her like a dog, so she won't be eating people.

Me too. Immortality as a zombie is hell on earth. I would not want my loved one to suffer like that.

Stories like this evoke deep feelings about love and difficult decisions. A father's struggle to save his daughter even when she's a zombie is an example of unconditional love. Even in the darkest of times, hope can be found. True love is tested to the limit.

This seems like a comedic chaos. Family drama, zombie horror, and government conspiracy, all mixed together would be fun to watch.

I recall a similar K-drama, only it was the man's wife, and he was trying to keep her alive. The sad thing was that the wife wanted somebody to stop her husband. The way she was “living” was painful, and she wanted him to let her die.

Combining humor with horror can create a story that is very appealing to audiences of all ages.

There is room to show emotion, family challenges, and courage.

Those genres are a good combination.

I go way back with humor and horror. (As I recall) There was an old movie (I mean like 1940s and 50s) where the guy was trying to muster up the courage to see what was behind a door (or a curtain). He was holding something in his hand to defend himself against whatever it was he was about to confront.

As if he's giving a warning, he says:
"If you is a ghost, ain't gone do me no good. It you not a ghost, ain't gone do you no good.”

I don't like horror. But I do enjoy it mixed with humor.

Every once in a while, I find the old black & white films on YouTube. :D

Personally not of much interest to me.
Yet my family members might like to lap it up.
Hopefully, this would do well !

It sounds like your family has different tastes in entertainment, which is perfectly normal. While not everyone is into zombie stories, it's nice to see that there's something that appeals to others. Maybe it'll be a fun conversation starter at home.

Yes and am pretty sure they are going to dwell heavily on the comedy side then maybe towards the end it gets serious.

This looks like an interesting story with a mix of comedy and horror. The style of mixing family, politics and the dead brings a unique thrill. If it starts with humor and ends with seriousness, then it can touch the audience deeply. We need stories like this!
