Remember when the Body positive movement cyber bullied Adele because she lost a lot of weight because she wants to live long enough to see her son become an adult.

Then Rebel Wilson also decided to lose weight because she wants to get lead roles instead of comedy sidekick.

To make it worst for the fat positive movement... Lizzo starts using Ozempic

Its a line from her song:

" Im all about that Bass, all that bass, no treble"

Bass is a large music instrument and treble is a skinny one. The song is a body acceptance song for chubby girls.

Body positivity is about all body types. A lot of these women felt happy with themselves no matter what size they were. That's the important thing, and the important thing to be showing people of all sizes.

:D "treble" made me laugh.

The reality is that the body positive movement is just encouraging unhealthy behaviours. No matter how you word it, being fat is bad for you.

You post a lot of threads being down on body positivity. Who hurt you?'

Wakefield news, the page that that Pringles story comes from, is a satire page. That didn't happen.

Body positivity is not a synonym for fat.

Nah. Fat people aren't necessarily unhealthy, just like thin people aren't necessarily healthy. What has been proven to be bad for people's health is the bullying and stigma that is directed towards fat people. It's like the one group that it's still socially acceptable to openly insult and bully. People like to pretend that they're being helpful with their bullying, but they're not. Fat people know they are fat. They don't need you to tell them. And they certainly don't need super helpful 'advice' like "just lose some weight", as if they hadn't thought of it, and it was an easy thing to do.

I don't disagree with most of that but you've said nothing new. And being fat is still bad for your physical health no matter how you word it.

There is a lot more to health than just weight, so no, it's not really that simple. If you're interested I highly recommend a podcast called Maintainence Phase.
https://www.maintenancephase.com/

Or if you prefer to read:
https://www.goodrx.com/health-topic/weight/is-being-skinny-healthy
Key takeaways:
" A lower body weight does not automatically equal good health. People with a low body weight can be at an increased risk of all-cause mortality, as well as certain health conditions.

Weight and body size are very imperfect measures of health. A person’s body composition — including their amount of muscle mass — is a better predictor of health risks than weight alone.

Body size is determined more by genetics than lifestyle choices. So many people in larger bodies are healthy. "

Then there is this, from the Conversation:
https://theconversation.com/just-because-youre-thin-doesnt-mean-youre-healthy-101185

This is also not really what body positivity is about. 'Body positive' is not just another way of saying 'fat'. It's about accepting ALL bodies, all shapes and sizes.
