I'm just old enough to have been in a generation where buying physical copies of music was still popular as I was growing up. The newest generation, gen alpha, won't have this experience I think, since streaming music online is more common now. I love asking people my age or older what the first piece of physical music they ever bought was, I get a wide range of answers
Mine, (embarrassingly) was one of Taylor Swift's older albums. I'm not really a Taylor Swift fan, and I wasn't back when I bought it either, I just really wanted to buy a CD. I still have it. Nowadays I still buy and collect CDs and albums, since they're still a really big thing in k-pop, which is one of my favourite genres.
What was the first CD or cassette, or vinyl you ever bought?
