Alice in Borderland

Postby Fergal » 14 Jul 2024, 09:02

I'm currently in season two and am enjoying it. The first episode is really bad in comparison to the rest, the show may not be for you, but if you watch the first episode and don't like it, I would suggest that you at least give the second episode a try.

Anyone else watching it? No spoilers please.

I've been meaning to watch that. The trailer for the first season looks good.

I watched it in dub, It was popular but got outshined by Squid Game and Wednesday a lot of the main cast are former Sentai actors (what Americans call Power Rangers)

Thanks so much for sharing, @Fergal :) I may not like Netflix but I feel they make good shows. Most of my favourite docuseries are Netflix-made. I've got a few documentaries to watch but will add this show to the list!

Alice in Borderland is a survival horror show like Squid Game but with supernatural elements

I've watched the whole show, it's one of my absolute favourites! I love all the hidden references to Alice in Wonderland, like the characters each representing an Alice in Wonderland character. Arisu = Alice, Chishiya = Cheshire, Usagi = White Rabbit. So cool!!

I did see lots of references to Alice in Wonderland in the show, however, I actually missed the connection with the characters, thanks for that. It's years and years since I read the book, I should probably give it another read after having watched Alice in Borderland.

I notice a pattern....

80s slasher films, The final survivor and main character is virginal girl.

Modern Asian Survival game stories, Main character and final survivor is Deadbeat guy,
