Latest series and movies

Postby sweerie_banana » 23 Jun 2024, 08:39

Hi I'm such a movie head, I believe that's one of my favorite hobbies. I'm currently watching season 5 Fargo, I'm almost done.

Can we start a discussion to help others know the latest and trending series or videos to watch?

It depends what you're into, but I can tell you some things I've enjoyed watching. I don't know what streaming services they'd be on in other countries though.

Wreck- A British series- teen slasher thing, the first season is set on the cruise ship, and the second is at a festival in Slovenia. It's pretty violent, but clever. The main characters are gay.

Letterkenny- Canadian comedy series about people living in a small town (the jocks vs the hicks and the skids- drug dealers). The dialogue is very fast and witty. Sometimes I have to play a scene a second time because the slang is unfamilar and I missed something, but it's worth it.

Girls 5 Eva - a sitcom written by Tina Fey (from 30 Rock), who also has a cameo in it. It's about women who used to be in a girl band in the 90s who decide to get back together in their late 30s/early 40s. There are three seasons on Netflix.

I second Russian Doll. That is a very clever show.

There is a town in Ireland called Letterkenny, has the series any connection to that?

Yeah, the town is named after the Irish one, having been settled by Irish immigrants I think.

I've been watching The Gentlemen on Netflix. It's a crime show written by Guy Ritchie (director of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch). It's a lot of fun.

I've watched that, it is good series, very funny in places and well worth a watch. I hadn't seen anything by Guy Ritchie in some time and you can certainly see his stamp on this series :)

I just finished watching Better Call Saul. It is not the latest TV series on Netflix, but there were no dull moments. Since I was busy with work, I could not watch it every day, so it took me some time to finish it.

I've just started watching The Brothers Sun on Netflix. It has Michelle Yeoh. Lots of cool action scenes.

I watched "Jackpot!" Recently . It was released a few days ago I think , staring John Cena and Awakfina. It was a real good watch . The story takes place in 2030 were if someone wins the lottery they have to survive until the day is over while everyone in the city tries to kill the winner .n
