The Simpsons has killed off a character who has been on the show for 34 years. Apparently some people are sad about it, but I had forgotten this guy even existed- Larry the Barfly. He's a regular at Moe's bar, usually seen in the background, and he's only had 2 lines in the whole show.

This makes only 9 characters who have died canonnically on the Simpsons (Homer's mum, Bleeding Gums Murphy, Mrs Krabappel, Maude Flanders, Alice Glick, Fat Tony, Krusty's father, Amber Simpson) making Springfield a pretty safe place to live.

I remember Mrs Krabappel was killed off because her actress died, so they even given her this heart breaking tribute





Apu on the other dissapeared out of nowhere because Americans got offended in the place of Indians not knowing Indians from India loves the character

her voice actress died of cancer so they killed her off, Actress Kerry Washington pitched a new character and suggested to play the role of Bart's new Teacher. She got the role easily, she got cast via twitter.



Bart was uncomfortable of her at the beginning because he miss Mrs.Krabapple, but he is now warming up to her, slowburn which is realistic.
