Pahela Boishakh, a Running Culture in Bangladesh

Postby MOSIUR » 25 Apr 2024, 08:51

Pahela Boishakh is a running culture in Bangladesh. It is the first day of Bangla(a language)New Year. On this day, people eat panta bhat(watery rich) with Hilsa fish, bhorta( a raw dish made by potato, pepper & salt). They pass the day happily. Some of the people believe that if they are happy in different activities on that day, they will be happy all the year round.

What is the name of the first day of a new year in your language?

I think you mean a tradition.

The first day of the new year is usually called New Year's Day here. It's a public holiday.
