Gillian Anderson endorses tacky soft drink with dodgy science claims

Postby Jem Smith » 10 Jan 2024, 07:48

I'm a big fan Gillian Anderson, from The X-Files, Hannibal and Sex Education, so it's disappointing to see her associated with a product with some dodgy science claims. I know Dana Scully was just a character, but Anderson herself has been associated by fans with skepticism, so it's a shame to see here acting like Gwyneth Paltrow (with Goop and all it's dodgy products). Her new brand of 'functional' soft drinks is called 'G-Spot' (cashing in on her role as a sex therapist in Sex Education), which is just a soft drink with some vague claims about it supposedly being good for you.

I loved The X-Files back in the day, even read one of the books and it was great. Gillian Anderson is a great actress. It is a shame when people use their status to promote products that are not what they are promoted as. Is Gillian Anderson a founder of this drink?
