I have nothing againts action movies lead by females but Why Producers think Anya Taylor Joy will look good as an action star. She is skinny as a twig and has no Martial Arts Background and her villain is Chris Hemsworth who is built like a tank. They should have chosen a thicker actress

I know they want to find the Next Angelina Jolie or Michelle Yeoh but Anya Taylor Joy doesn't look believable. She looks too scrawny. I know they cant get Gal Gadot because Israel is kind of hated right now.

The character Furiosa was originally played by Charlize Theron.



Charlize is Athletic and has proven herself as action star but producers thinks she is too old.

Sure. It's not like they're fighting in hand to hand combat (although even then, maybe?). It's a Mad Max Movie, so it's more important how well she drives. She is on the skinny side, but so is Summer Glau, and she rocked the combat scenes in Firefly.

Smaller actors in action scenes can be really interesting. Ever see Black Sails? There's a scene where Jack Rackham, a fairly small, skinny dude, fights the much bigger captain of the rival crew. He wins by trickery and speed.

BTW "females" is dehumanising. They're women.

I finally saw the movie yesterday. I liked it.

Anya Taylor Joy doesn't square off with Chris Hemsworth in a fist fight or anything like that, so doesn't need to be particularly muscular. Her character is small, fast, and smart. Her smaller size allows her to do things like cling on to the underside of a moving vehicle while making repairs and move through small spaces. When she goes up against large men it's either with a weapon (like a gun, or a car used to drive at them) or by cunning (sneaking up on them).
