Do you listen to afrobeat songs?

Postby Blessed19 » 12 Aug 2023, 09:58

The afrobeat music genre which is taking over the world of music both on the continental and international level is a genre of music that originates and widely used by Nigerians.
The likes of Wizkid, Davido, Burnaboy, Rema, Fireboy who have gone very global with the sounds of the genre with their sweet and comforting sounds and lyrics.
Listening to the songs of the many music arts that we have in the country Nigeria is so comforting and soulful and I will advise you to get to start listening to afrobeat songs if you are not.

Afrobaeats music is growing like wildfire. It is not just indigenous to Nigeria. Cameroon with Libianca and Ghana have also popularized the genre.

When I heard Selena Gomez confessing that a remix she did with Rema was one of her best songs, I know afrobeats is going places.

I listen to local music and English music, sometimes also Bollywood. Other than these, I have never listened to any kind of music, including Afrobeat.

I like to listen to a wide range of music. Over the years, I have collected my own playlist downloaded on my various devices that includes something over 7000 selections of music from every continent and more than 100 countries. I have one specific album of African tribal music and I like them. I play the whole list in random play order so I hear everything at least 2 or 3 times a year. I am not aware of any Afrobeat genre in my playlist but I'm certainly open to go looking for them.

I don't think I ever have, but since you mention it I'll give some a try. I like a lot of different kinds of music.
