I'm a horror fan, and always looking for movie recommendations. Have you ever seen a horror movie that really scared you? If so, what kind of horror movie was it (body horror, a slasher movie, monster movie, disaster movie etc)?

It's not exactly a movie, but I remember when I was much younger (probably too young) I watched some of the Salem's Lot miniseries and it really scared me. The idea of people coming back from the dead and appearing at your bedroom window, really scared me. I'd like to think it would not be so frightening now

I used to watch the Child's Play films when I was just little . I used to get nightmares at night .
That said my favorite would be Evil Dead and A Quiet Place

A Quiet Place is a good one. Very scary.

Here are my favorites:

The descent- billions of years ago, Some cavemen decided to stay inside the caves... Their descendants evolved into blind carnivorous humanoids that uses echolocation to hunt.

Billions of years later, a group of female rock climbers decide to explore an uncharted cave as a way help their friend Sarah recover from the trauma of losing her husband and daughter from a car accident. Little did they know that cave is the home for the Crawlers.

Coraline (starring Dakota fanning)

Don't be fooled by this movie being animated. This is a horror story. Coraline is frustrated on how uncool and strict her mother is. She wished that she has a different mother. Her mom got replaced by this suspiciously nice button eyed lady who spoils her and give her, her wants.


The Hills have eyes (2006 remake)


Most horror movies have sex addicted teenagers as characters so we dont feel bad when they die. The Hills Have eyes' main cast is a happy and loving all American family. A very wholesome family who was on their way to have a vacation. Their car tires got flat because someone puts spikes in the road. Apparently there is a village of inbred hillbillies who survived nuclear testing and they became cannibals. Imagine how an innocent family must fight for their lives againts a village of cannibals.

I don't watch a lot of horror movies. This movie is not scary either, but mulholland drive really scared me

Ghost Ship , The thing ( the 1st one , john carpenter ) and Dog Soldiers are 3 of my favorites . Shaun of the Dead for a comedy with zombies . One of my fav types or fav type but most of the ones i have watched are kinda old

It was 1989 when it was released in Italy in the WHS videocassette version in Italian "Non aprite quel cancello" whose original title was "The Gate". I remember that I was so scared that I couldn't sleep at night!

I can't really say though, cause to be honest i don't really watch horror movies. These days its pretty hard to find good horror movies that actually have good storyline rather than just unnecessary killings.

I don't like waching horror movies alone but nobody I know wants to wach it with me I wached one horror movie when I was a child it was super scary to me back then sadly I don't remember the name I would love to wach it again

One of my favorite horror movies is "The Shining" directed by Stanley Kubrick. It's a haunting and visually stunning film. It provides an amazing combination of stellar performances, atmospheric direction, and thought-provoking themes, which makes it a standout in the world of horror cinema and a personal favorite of mine.

Horror is one of my favorite film genres, and I've watched a lot of them. My favorites include Blair Witch Project, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, The Conjuring, and The Wailing. In my spare time, I'd like to watch Talk To Me.

I used to LOVE horror movies but they got weird. They are either funny (far from scary) or OTT gory. But the last time I tried to watch a movie, I got so weirded and creeped out, I've never gone back to finish watching it - it's called Stir of echoes starring Kevin Bacon, one of my favourite actors.
