(and I know 'church' USUALLY isn't "pop culture," but a) Heart of the Nation is mostly 'a national infomercial' (i.e. widely broadcast, but "paid-for by the advertiser" (NOT the stations who play it)) & b) this prayer is in
the calendar they distribute ("Literature," right?))
Next to a painting of (I suppose) St. Joseph holding the infant Jesus,
they wrote:Father in heaven,
thank You for the gift of dear fathers
who by their way of living
teach children how to become
devoted, loving, and forgiving.
God sent the Son into the
world (John 3)
Sharing these monthly prayers, I for some reason got it in my head that I should list all
the month's monthly observances (and started doing that with posts for
March &
April &
May), but now I just skip to
'doing my thing' about ...
The name of the month of "June" comes from a wordroot that means "Sacred to Juno (Roman goddess of Adult
Women & Marriage (married to Jupiter))" (and the Junebug (or june-bug) is a beetle that's active in June).
