While hosting The Daily Show, Sarah Silverman's comedic genius related America's recent spy-balloon battles to guar gum, and asked "What is guar gum?"

Ignoring her conclusion--"No one knows what it is; but we're eatin' it, baby!"--I took it as 'an assignment' to find out and give the report.

And--just like in college--that meant "Ask Wikipedia, and cut/paste their answer for your report!"
