Goodbye Jocks, Cheerleaders, Weirdos, Outliers & Nerds! THESE are the Cliques that Rule 'Movie High-Schools' Today!

Postby friendociate » 30 Jan 2023, 13:27

The Take calls them "The Teen Tropes of Today (late 20-teens to early `20s)---they mention all those old ones (and some other ones), but they mention the current ones ...
    They list
  • E-Girls
  • Soft Girls
  • Soft Boys
  • Gym Bros
  • VSCO Girls ("Photography mobile app VSCO (/ ˈvɪskoʊ /), formerly known as VSCO Cam, is a photography mobile app for iOS and Android devices.")
  • ... the Boy that THEY call the F*** Boy, who I think we should call the Dolly Boy (to make the clique less appealing for young boys to join)
  • New Nerds
    • Light Academic
    • Dark Academic
    • Theatre Kid
    • Fangirl (no longer just a Jim Gaffigan- or Jonah Hill-meme) or Fanboy
    • The Gamer

Vsco Girls are known to care about sea turtles so they use metal straws. Weird but that specific.

Are there VSCO Boys? And where would you fit? ('Asking that' makes me think of that Ben Stiller movie THE MARC PEASE EXPERIENCE)

I'd probably be all the types of nerds ... either focusing on being The Gamer or The Theatre Kid.
