Netflix Shows with a series finale

Postby Netherrealmer » 21 Dec 2022, 07:46

Seeing your favorite TV shows getting canceled with no ending can be frustrating. Netflix Subscribers experience that a lot! So I decided to make a compilation of shows in Netflix with a Series finale. When I said series finale, the show is not canceled! It has an ending! So you can binge them or watch them in slow pace without the worries of the show getting canceled because it has an ending, An ending that will go to you with the grave. An ending that will give you nice memories.

Breaking Bad
Image
A science teacher is tired of his low salary so he decided to sell drugs instead. This 5 Season show is addictive pun intended and it has a Series finale.

Izombie
Image
Medical student Liv was bitten by a zombie during a party outbreak. She has some way of retaining her free will while assimilating people. She doesn't want to kill people, but in order to remain human, she must consume brains. She made the decision to work in the morgue where she could obtain free brains without having to kill anyone. Every time she consumes a person's brain, she gets their personality and skills for 24 hours as well as their memories. She made the decision to pose as a psychic in order to help detectives who try to solve murders because she has memories of murder victims because of brain-eating.

The Good Place
Image
Eleanor is a bad person, she deserves to burn in hell but she accidentally ends up in heaven. She have to pretend that she is a kindhearted person because if she is caught, she will be sent down in hell. It lasted for 4 seasons and the ending is great.

I will add more to the list. My mind is a bit murky because of Covid which I currently have.

This is a great idea. I make it a priority to watch completed shows because I don't like waiting for new episodes/seasons. I wish Netflix or other streaming services had the option to sort shows by completion status.

I don't think we need to keep this list strictly Netflix though, as there are plenty of shows out there with a proper ending.

Anyway, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Lucifer, Ozark, 3%, and Dark come to mind when I think of Netflix originals with an actual ending. There's also mini series - The Queen's Gambit, Behind Her Eyes, Alias Grace, The Haunting (both seasons have an ending). Non-Netflix shows (but available on Netflix) would vary depending on your country, but in the US at least - Wynonna Earp, Van Helsing, Schitt's Creek.

Not all of them have a /happy/ ending, but they all have an ending and no cliffhangers.

The Good Place is the best one between the three. Breaking Bad seems like an history film while Izombie for science fiction. However watch them the three will be the best alternative.

Netflix standards is becoming more unrealistic, They just canceled 1899 despite of he fact the show have 35 million people watching. Netflix's minimum standard is now 38 million. So I will keep this list alive to save people from heartbreak and they can watch shows where they don't fear thread of cancelation.

I have seen them flash before eyes when I go to Netflix especially The Good Place. But I never bothered to watch them. The other day my daughter wanted to try watching The Good Place. Maybe I should join her. This one seems interesting and I presume that it would be a light entertainment.

I think 38 million is only for this show. Some (US produced) shows which had less than 38 million views still got renewed for another season. The cost to views wasn't worth it to Netflix.

That being said, with the recession coming, I bet the bar will be even higher for a lot of future shows and most will end up being cancelled after 1 season.

I think budget and ratings ratio is the reason why 1899 got canceled. Yes most german shows are cheap but 1899 is the most expensive German show in history, its hollywood budget. 38 million is high ratings for a show with low budget but 1899 have stranger things level of budget.

I can now add Cobra Kai to the list. Though the show is not yet finished, The show runners are given the honors of being renewed to completion. Season 6 is their chosen final Season and they finished filming. Cobra Kai is the continuation of the Karate Kid movie franchise. You don't need to watch the first 4 movies because scenes from the movies are used for flash backs but I highly recommend to watch the movies first.

Cobra Kai was originally a Youtube show so the first 2 seasons are available on Youtube for free.

Cobra Kai centers around Johnny, The villain of the first Karate kid movie. Yes many of the Karate kid actors reprise their roles. He became dirt poor after his divorce. He will meet a bullied teenage boy that reminds me of the boy he bullied that humbled him and decides to teach him Karate. Its the ultimate story of redemption.

I'm only using Netflix for its Korean dramas. I sometimes go through their Top 10 lists of shows that are popular in the U.S. and I'm usually not interested in watching most of them. But they are satisfying my appetite for K-dramas. :D

Its hard to be attached with ongoing American shows, especially the high budget ones because most of them get canceled. Kdramas are always meant to be miniseries, so when they end there is closure and if there is a new season, its more of a sequel.

My late husband never liked the American shows. He was the one who got me started on foreign films and TV shows. He liked British shows, then he got hooked on Bollywood, then Korean, then Turkish. I have to say I enjoy the non-US shows even if I do have to read English subtitles.

Netflix keeps causing controversy. They even have governments trying to sue them. I don't see how this is good for business. Also, I don't get the difference between 35 million and 38 million. It's like they're splitting hairs.

It's strange though. I bought fractional shares of Netflix stock and the value is increasing.

I never got into breaking bad. I might check out the good place since it looks interesting. I started to watch dead to me but never finished it. I have always enjoyed cobra kai. that is a show that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I also watched the first episode of that 90s show this past weekend. I thought it would be a flop since that 80s show was but it was pretty good being it had the original cast from that 70s show which I never watched a lot of.

So this topic should be renamed as TV shows with an ending

Anyway, Manifest apparently has a really good ending. It's the one show that blew up a while back after it got cancelled and Netflix had to buy it from NBC to save it. They finally released the ending this month and the reviews for it are pretty good.
