Soap Operas

Postby Spontaneo » 20 Aug 2022, 00:59

Throughout the years, I was never able to watch soap operas. I always have had to work. I would love to just sit back with my iced mochas in a quaint cottage somewhere, watch soap operas and not have a care in the world.

Are you able to watch operas'? Which is your favorite?

I am not a fan but every single women in my family is. I notice that in soap opera's the mother of the main character's love interest's mom and ex girlfriend are always antagonistic to the main female.

This is my soap opera story.

My mom used to watch "The Edge of Night" (1956-1984) and she liked "General Hospital" (1963 - ). I never watched them.

My big sister watched "Love is a Many Splendored Thing' (1967-1973) and "One Life to Live" (1968-2013).
Because she watched them and I always hung out with her, I watched them too. We were hooked! We only watched them during the summer because there was no school. But the funny thing about soap operas is that you can miss several shows and still pick up where you left off. Most of the actors and actresses stayed with the show. You knew like they were family.

When I graduated from high school and started attending university there was no time to watch them. I was in class during the day. Back then we didn't have VCRs to record a TV show and watch later. I also did not have television in my room. So I stopped watching soap operas and never started watching them again.

I just noticed that out of all of the soap operas I remember watching, General Hospital is the only one still going strong!
