I assume for some they already have scripts for at one more season. They should not start make new season before you have entire script. Some changes are possible but main text should be ready.

Damn this strike is still happening. Tv stations, streaming companies and I am running out of shows to watch as all of them are delayed. At first I feel sorry for them because they are underpaid, Now I am annoyed.

Feels like I haven't heard much about this recently. I know it's still happening, but the buzz seems to have died down a bit. If this drags on for too long, actors and actresses will have schedule conflicts and shows may end up being cancelled. Hope they will start negotiations soon.

Good luck to them.

In the meantime, you could always watch TV from other places, and there is so much content already out there to stream now that that should tide you over through the strike.

Wouldn't be much of a strike if it didn't annoy people.

The fear of my favorite shows getting canceled because of them though is haunting me. It happened before.

Foreign shows have higher watch time in streaming service ever since the writing strike,

Writers who are still on strike are pissed off because Netflix decided to open a restaurant.

I love that the respond to this Netflix pop-up restaurant is "Will you be asked to pay extra if you share your food with someone?"

Anyway, what even makes this a "Netflix" restaurant other than the red neon lights? Are they making food with the Netflix logo or speciality food from Netflix originals??

I heard they are already negotiating something with the writers, but the strikes will continue until later this year.

Talk shows died the moment these strikes happen. The hosts of all talkshows dont know how to do impromptu interviews. They needed writers.

strike

The writers have one more demand, they will be allowed to use chatgpt but they will still get the credit because prompts are theirs.

It's sad to know. Writers are creative people and they need to be well paid for their talent. It's sad to see that ChatGPT is taking over their jobs. Somewhere the question of ethical AI has to be addressed before it's too late and the whole world is a chaos.

"The talk show hosts on Primetime Television in America have decided to collaborate on a podcast to continue earning money. This includes all of them, including Jimmy Kimmel. All primetime talk show hosts in America will now have a podcast to generate income while no one is writing for their shows. They have also mentioned that a portion of the podcast earnings will go to support the striking writers."

I heard Netflix will now just use non-Union writers, South African writers, South Korean writers, and Castilian writers.
