I can't stand romance movies, to be honest. I just find them too sweet and over the top. BUT weirdly enough, I do enjoy a romance book here and there... as well as it's well-written.

The most popular genres of music in the USA are hip hop and rap, with pop coming in third. If women consume most of the music then it must be mostly hip hop and rap most of them are listening to.

In a survey in Australia, 20% of people said pop was their favourite genre, and I suppose that could include boybands, but 20% is still not the majority.

I didn't say that most men didn't hate boybands. What I was disputing was you saying that most women prefer boybands. That's just not true, and it's obvious.

I guess it's just catering to different stereotypical "interests". A lot of men do like media created with women in mind, and a lot of women like media created for men.
