Dc comics retired Diana as Wonder Woman

Postby Netherrealmer » 07 Sep 2022, 20:05

DC comics just made Diana retire the mantle of Wonder Woman and will just now go with the name Diana because she is now a God. She now goes by the name God of Truth.

Image

The title of Wonderwoman is now given to a Brazilian woman from the Amazon forest. Yes she is not an Amazon from Themyscira. She is just created to fill a Latino quota.

DC once tried replacing Bruce as Batman by making Terry Mcguiness aka Batman beyond but it didnt work.

Image

Fans are debating about this. First they retired Clark and replace him with his Gay Son and now they retired Diana and give her mantle to a woman who has nothing to do with her.

They cant even fix their Ezra Miller and Amber Heard problems on movies but now they are destroying the comics.

Remember Starfire from Teen titans? She is Nightwing's girlfriend when he was still Robin.

Image

She have an obese angry lesbian daughter now who hates her and Robin for no reason. She is mad that everyone loves her parents. She is trying to be rebellious and edgy. (they expect an unlikable character like this to sell?)

So another change of base. We should change some popular books like Julia become lesbian and Romeo fly in space.

I think Yara is created as a preparation to 2038 because Diana will be Public domain by then.

And who currently have rights on her character?

Dc own her rights but by 2038 it will be the 70th year since her maker died. Thats is what needed to make a character who is not public domain. Batman and Superman are close to becoming public domain.

Thats why Jon Kent, Clark's Gay son now uses the mantle. Batman's son Damian Wayne might takeover the title soon.

In Case of Marvel, Miles Morales and Riri are reserves once Peter Parker and Tony Stark becomes Public domain.

Captain America title is given to Black Falcon and multiple characters because Steve Rogers is about to be Public Domain too.

They want War Machine to stay War Machine. Black Falcon is an unpopular character so maybe Marvel thinks making him Captain America will make him more popular. Wolverine's clone/daughter X-23 also uses the name Wolverine now after his death.

They play too much, I don't like such comics.
Comic story should mach with its series; I don't object one retiring and giving way to another; but they make nonsense replace.

they are doing it because Wonder Woman will be public domain in 2038. Which means by that time happen everyone can make a Wonder Woman movie without the need for permission from DC. You can make a Wonder Woman restaurant and DC cannot sue you anymore because she is Public domain. So they created Yara and they plan to make her popular enough to replace Diana by the time Diana is Public domain, DC have a Wonder Woman to hold on to. If a character's creator is dead for 70 years they become Public domain.

A replacement character had been successful once,

Jay Garrick was the original Flash
Image

DC replaced him with Barry Allen before he becomes Public domain with Barry Allen and now the Flash everyone knows is Barry Allen. No one remembers Jay Garrick.

Dc already retired Clark Kent in the comics with his son Jon Kent.

Once Indian comic Raj Comics introduced Superman, Batman, Spiderman with Indian Hero Nagraj. Nobody sued them (perhaps due to lof Profile of Indian comics.
But Indian comic fans use any comic characters to create their own comics.

These manga animes are well drawn and seems like a real person with a small little difference so someone could imagine like showing a real person not a picture.

And do characters fall into Public Domain no matter how recently the owners' use them in new works?

In the Arrowverse, wasn't Jay Garrick 'Barry Allen's dad'? (or at least 'the two Speedsters worked together')

Was that the name of the kid he had (secretly, before he skipped the planet) in Superman Returns? Or maybe one- or both of the kids he had with Lois before SUPERMAN & LOIS?

Well, any changes would have mixed reactions. While some fabs would welcome it and look forward to something new, others especially the old loyal ones would not like it. They might eventually accept it and like it.
About the lesbian daughter hating her popular parents, the character might be unlikable but many youth can relate to that. It's not so uncommon where teens and youth hate their parents for no reason just out of some inferiority complex thar they might develop
