I notice many former childstars are still under conservatorship of their parents or managers

Postby Netherrealmer » 05 Jun 2021, 15:47

Many former child stars in Hollywood seemed to have no control of their life because their managers or parents still have them under conservatorship of their parents or management. Big example is Britney Spears.

This is her as a child:

Britney is now 39 but she is in a conservatorship battle against her dad because her dad still have control of her hard earned money. Her management and dad's side says she is not mentally stable or that she have problems with drugs but she had been sober for a long time and have no scandals but her dad still have her money and savings.

I remember there is a former child star in Hollywood who divorced his parents. Yes in the US you can divorce your parents to be out of their custody.

Amanda Bynes blames her parents why she succumbed to drugs and alcohol and she may had got sexually abused by her producer. She is also in a conservatorship battle against her parents.

I think child stars should become illegal and the movies and TV should just use CGI children voiced by adult voice actors.

Look at how the Olsen Twins who refuses to accept any acting roles. Many former child stars seemed to experience something traumatizing that's why they succumbed to drugs and alcohol.

In such cases, people might not be wanting to let go of the control over these stars.
May be they need their money or their share of fame.
Yet each individual case could be different.

Maybe it's time that the rules changed, when they are kids it's okay for their parents to control their earnings, but when they turn 18 the roles should be reversed and they should be given that window to decide whether they still want their parents to control their earnings or not. Britney is an adult now she is capable to taking care of herself.

I think her dad is clinging to her money because he loves being rich. He will be left with nothing if he let go of her conservatorship.

The case is now on Court. Britney sued her dad:

Most child stars are bond with the manager for life unless they give up beimg famous. When they have no value anymore, i am sure they are frer to do anything with their money. The manager are greedy, they wan the commision of money the childstar earns.
