The South Asian Military Confrontation between India and Pakistan | Operation Sindoor | Terror Camps destroyed

Postby ptrikha21 » 08 May 2025, 13:08

India and Pakistan.
Two nations born from partition in 1947 from the Historical Land called India / Bharat / Hindustan.

Technically India was named after Indus river famous for the ancient Indus Valley civilization.
Hindustan is an Arabic alternate derived from Hindos for Indus.
Bharat is derived from Bharatvansh - the lineage of the legendary Aryan king Bharat.
I would not go into the details of Indian pre colonial history. British Raj, partition and the Kashmir matter.

Yet while India chose the path of Mixed Economy with a focus on social and economic upliftment of people who were in economic distress and backwardness as compared to the world due to years of colonial rule, in a peaceful way along with maintaining good relations with other world countries, its newly born neighbor chose the path of keeping enmity with us alive.
Its much talked about reasons : existentialist threat/religion factor and more.
While till the late 1980s, Pakistan benefited from being aligned to US, UK and other western powers and a beneficiary
of largese as a big Non NATO partner, plus as a big aid in helping Afghan Mujaheedins against USSR(USSR in Afghanistan
from 1980 to 1989: remember Rambo III and Al Qaida/Osama Bin Laden connection).

This helped Pakistan achieve an average growth rate higher than India which pursued a heavy socialised Mixed economy.
Its capital city Islamabad was in many ways more posh than the Indian capital of New Delhi.

Things changed Post cold war. Pakistan, now aware that it cannot win a conventional war (not achieving desired results in 1947/48, 1965 and the
Bangladesh humiliation in 1971) engineered massive Terrorist movement in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Many Kashmiri Hindu Pandits were killed and had to flee to Jammu and other parts of India from Kashmir valley.
The massacare and atrocity was always underplayed in the biased western media.

Then Pakistan tried to wrest parts of Kashmir through Kargil - 1999 but had to backtrack after fierce Indian response and
pressure from Bill Clinton.

Our "peaceful" neighbor (as they often proclaim) has been exporting terror of all kinds and well, 22 April 2025 was the latest provocation.
The targeted religious killing was the base for India's well coordinated 26 minutes attack on 9 terror camps in Pakistan
and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) in the early morning hours of 7th of May 2025.
Yes, the neighbor is crying foul and even proclaiming that innocent Women and Kids were killed, making
one to think what they were doing in Terror camps.

The conflict is still not open but a still designated Third world country India has shown to the world
that it will no longer bow to Terror and can go beyond the threats of Nuclear Blackmail to hit the supporters
of terror within and beyond its boundaries.

I hope that some day our neighbor is ruled by smart & intelligent folks who make real peace and
do something good for their own people, who are now suffering badly in economic distress and being
dependent on IMF aid.

I cannot comment on that but the Pakistan Media and their Government is expert on fake propaganda.
One of their Ministers was asked by a Western reporter as to what proof they have of drowning Indian Fighter Jets including Rafale.
He told that it is all over social media including twitter and could not give a convincing reply and in a rare case, he was strongly rebuffed by the reporter!
Unfortunately, many in the Western Media sometimes believes their version and even hyphenate India with Pakistan, which is wrong.

Hopefully there will be a peaceful resolution to this situation. It is very sad that people are being killed and injured and that this conflict has such a long history.

Yes the conflict has a pretty long history although Donald Trump's statement of 1000 Years conflict is totally baseless. I do not know what made him say so.
Yet this conflict has its seeds sown in 1940s, during the partition of India and in some ways, British rule is also to be blamed.

Unfortunately, India has been a victim of cross border state sponsored terrorism for long and acted with restraint for many decades.
Now, Indian Armed forces have shown that they can respond to such aggressions in a fierce way.
