Ice Water - Do You Lack Common Sense Too?

Postby Spontaneo » 24 Feb 2025, 03:01

Gosh, am I stupid!

I like ice water. However, I am always afraid of choking on iced cubes.

This afternoon, I wanted some chilled water and not have to wait. So, I placed 2 water bottles in the freezer.

A couple of hours later, I remembered that the bottled water was in the freezer and I took the bottles out! Instant ice water! Good, pure and clean like in a restaurant. No way of choking on an ice cube either. The opening on top is too small for ice to come thru.

Do you lack common sense like I do? ;) ;)

I've never really worried about choking on ice cubes. Putting water bottles in the freezer is a good idea though. The cook at my work does that and we always have cold water to drink.

Do you drink water plain? Do you use a little juice or water enhancer?

How about when you forget overnight and the swelling ice that can not get passed the bottleneck shatters the bottle. Major Mess and very dangerous.

I only place plastic water bottles in the freezer.

You are never afraid of choking on an ice cube? Do you use crushed ice? That is a different story. I am talking about big ice cubes.

I'm not sure how that would even happen. I drink the liquid, and let the ice melt in the drink. I don't usually put the ice cubes in my mouth, so how would I choke on them? Unless you're chucking back a huge gulp at once, ice cubes and all?

I really like to have bottled water in the freezer as our ice cubes are way too big. If I place some in a glass, one has to be careful and take small sips as the ice cubes are melting. I would rather be safe then sorry.
