Not everyone has the willpower and interest to become a lifetime vegetarian or vegan; having meat-free days instead is an easier goal to achieve without the need to compromise the dietary lifestyle that you enjoy.
Everybody is aware that the consumption of fruits, vegetables and nuts cost way less than having meat-based meals. However, this is not the sole reason why more people should endeavor to have meat-free days. The additional, science-proven benefits of eating just fruits, vegetables, rice, grains and nuts on specific days are:
1. You'll get to taste dishes that you've never eaten before
2. Lowered cholesterol levels
3. Helps with weight loss
4. Improves bowel health
5. Introduces you to a new circle of people (and who doesn't want new friends?) - especially vegans, vegetarians, fruitarians, etc.
By incorporating meat-free days into your lifestyle, you have nothing to lose (and you'll actually save some money!). Give it a try and if you feel like your body is agreeable to it (no sudden hunger pangs), then that is great news indeed.
