Rotisserie chicken

Postby Netherrealmer » 07 Jan 2026, 16:41

At supermarkets and grocery stores, rotisserie chicken is usually cheaper than fresh raw chicken. The reason is that the chicken is not as fresh anymore — often, it’s frozen for weeks and didn’t sell. That’s why it’s sold at a lower price.

If you’re on a tight budget, rotisserie chicken can be a more affordable option than fresh chicken. It’s already cooked, so you can use it in many recipes, from salads to pasta to vegetable stir-fries. To make it healthier, simply avoid eating the skin, but if you don’t mind the extra calories, you can eat the skin.

Buying rotisserie chicken at a grocery store or supermarket can save you a lot of money. I’m specifically talking about the grocery store and supermarket versions because they’re cheap, not the restaurant versions.

rotisserie chicken is a great option for those on a tight budget because it saves time and money. I can cook different vegetables and remove the skin so I can stay safe while still enjoying the fillets without hurting my wallet at all.

Rotisserie chicken? You're preaching to the choir. It's cheap and at my Walmart it comes in traditional, lemon pepper, and mesquite barbecue. I like all of them!

I was watching a cooking show, and a famous chef said she always buys rotisserie chicken to use for quick meals.

It will actually save you from cooking time. For example, you want to make a stir-fry vegetable, and instead of, you know, sauteing raw meat, you have, it will just, you know, saute already cooked rotisserie chicken that you buy in bulk. It saves you a lot of time.

In our Walmart, one chicken costs $4.97. For about $5, I can take *it home, add it to whatever I have in my kitchen cabinets and refrigerator, and fix a meal for 6 people. Stir fry, casserole, chicken enchiladas, chicken salad, etc. Sometimes I just rip off a piece, put it between two pieces of bread, and make a sandwich. :D

My roommate's sister recently gave myself a pound of Hillshire Farm rotisserie seasoned chicken breast. Completely awful. So, I disguised the flavor with mozzarella cheese cooked in the air fryer. :( :(

OMG I LOVE rotesserie chicken <3 My mouth is watering as we speak  Because it's just me and my husband, a whole chicken lasts us ages. We usually have our favourite pieces with salad. Then we might slice the breast into slices to have with salad and potatoes/chips. The rest goes into a pasta, bacon and mushroom dish that makes 4-6 servings. We just bought a lovely air fryer. I should try to make a whole roast chicken in there. We've roasted chicken pieces in there and the chicken came out better than the oven. No lie told.

Yes! The first time I saw the price at the store, I asked to be sure. I thought they made a mistake.

Lol very lucky, over here a full would is around 15,000 to 25,000 in our local currency, in dollars that's around $11 to $18 and maybe more depending on where you buy from.

That amount you mentioned might only give you a part of the chicken. And in some places, just a single part.
