Degrees - especially Degrees in certain fields like Medicines, engineering still have a big aura in India.
Plus fields like CA (Chartered Accountant).
Yet, beneath the surface, there are tales of people going for such options struggling with Jobs, Under-employment and lack of proper remuneration.

Attractive resume with no attractive bank balance is an effort that was just a pure waste of time.

I don't agree with it and some people do get high paying jobs when they show more weight in their resume of their extra degree and diplomas, I am not saying they are correct in spending money like that but some do get well paying jobs through it

I don't agr.... it

At times, extra Degrees, Diplomas and courses work. At times, even costly certifications with great effort are not worth since the folks taking the interview do not perceive the candidate of being of sufficient skill and ability.

I prefer to get the required education and don't like to just fill my resume with unnecessary accomplishments

So many people say that school is a scam, but I don't think it is.

I would rather spend my money on a learning a skill that I can easily use to. make money. Schools has lost it's core value and momentum.

Those who are behind good salaries like to make their resume weigh heavy by adding different skills, degrees and diplomas but even I am not interested in that

If you have a career that relies on educational qualifications, you can invest and spend your money to get the qualifications. But some people just pack degrees for showmanship.

Some simply like to have more degrees under their name and that's why they keep on completing different degrees, courses even if they are not helping them earn more

There are some professions that require constant updating, such as doctors, engineers or teachers, in these cases there is a need to undergo training throughout their career.

Professions like teachers or any other that requires us to keep learning and add more degrees or diplomas or courses so it's fine as it'll help you complete your work related duties and earn more

There are other reasons people want degrees besides prestige or money. Some people actually just love learning. Lots of people pursue higher degrees like PhD's because they are passionate about the subject they are researching and it gives them resources to pursue that interest.

Some people in my country actually pay for honorary degrees to show off and oppress others. Most honorary degrees in my country are bought though.

It's like an addiction for some and since they can afford they have every right to do that and make themselves happy.

Education is important no doubt and would help expand your mindset and mentality but overspending on it doesn't make sense.

If someone is not in academia, the efforts to gather more degrees always seems like or is wasted. Except you are educating yourself on tech.
