It probably is, but I have one scepticism about it, isn't the powerhouse TLD .com? how would the general public find your site with anything but .com .edu .org. or .gov? Those are all the domains I learned about growing up anyways. Now, I probably sound stupid or inexperienced to some esteemed webmasters or site owners, but I am inexperienced in this field. I've been looking for a TLD to start my blog on. So I want it to be easy to find.

But that aside, what would it cost to renew the domain and how long would the domain last before needing renewal?

TLDs don't matter, Google threats them all the same. Sites like affly. Agario, delicious etc. don't use it
