I pay the fees out of the extra 30FC I charge. Even if the transaction fee is higher than this, I won't charge anymore. You will get $3 at the current rate at the time I send it.

This offer is exclusive for ForumCoin. I don't use the other forums so it would require alot of work for me to manage an be able to withdraw on the other sites to get the funds.

If you are interested, I will pay the current BTC price for what you have. Basically you send the BTC and I will send you the equivalent in FC for what I receive (The amount you have minus what you had to pay for the transaction fee) for the amount you send to me at the time you sent it. If you are interested, send me a PM.

* * Let me ask you a question. I don't know much about cryptocurrency, bitcoin, litecoin, whatever. Since I am in the USA is there an advantage for me to exchange my forum coins for another type of currency? I know you're not my paid financial advisor, but if you could shed some additional light, I might consider participating in this offer. Part of me is hesitant because of my ignorance but the other part of me says "Why not embrace a financial opportunity?" :$:

Here's one hint to you so you can speculate the rest.

1 bitcoin = 5500 USD. This rate may go up or down. 3 years back 1 bitcoin = 10$ to 100$ or so. Now this is the rate. Each crypto has different rate. For example 1 Ether = 333 USD. 1 XRP = 1.2 USD. 1 STEEM = 5 USD etc. And this rate changes as we speak so it can be up and down. You're in US so you should be looking at higher conversion for USD. Ether, bitcoin, litecoin are good for you to check out.

If the FC is something you convert for something serious money then I'd not recommend cryptocurrency. I'd instead suggest you to think of this as a stock market. So get in only if you wish to noth worry about what you lose in buying or selling these cryptocurrency. Hope this helps. I am sure CF can explain better than me.

To be honest there is no real answer to that as the advantages are dependant on the individual, the country they are located in and your attitudes to money and business. There is a couple of reasons I personally like Bitcoin and they are that it removed banks who profit from other people's misery and cuts out PayPay who I feel have dominated the online Payment sector but also abused their power with randomly changing their terms and affecting other people's businesses (such as their decision to exit the PTC industry by suspending the accounts of CS and NB without notice. People rely on them and they just do whatever they feel like with no warning because they can. That is why I like Bitcoin. Also as Bitcoin has a limit number that will exist (21 million), it will mean that as people lose access to BTC or people due, that will help raise the BTC price in future especially if demand keeps increasing anyway. It means a small amount of BTC now may be worth a lot more in the future which is kinda what I am hoping for. I don't care about the short term and am really taking a risk on in the future that BTC will reach $50000+ at which point my small amount of Bitcoin will 10 times the current value. In the other hand it might be worth less.

Bitcoin etc is more risky. You may end up with more or maybe less. With PayPal, you will get the money (minus their fee) but there is less risk. It is really if you like risk, want to learn something new or not and basically just mess around and maybe earn something. inly you can really answer that based on your attitudes, experience and financial situation. We are not talking about great amount here anyway but ~$5 is still handy to have.

I recommend doing some research first on how Bitcoin works and the risks.

@skysnap and @CyberFreak

You two have really got me thinking. Sounds enticing. Kind of makes me want to try “living dangerously”. :D

But I better do some more research. “No man ever builds a house without first counting up the cost.” Thanks for taking your time to respond with some very useful and insightful information.

One quick question though and then I'm done. I promise.

I only have a PayPal account. So if I try the exchange I'll need a special account for the bitcoins or whatever cryptocurrency I trade in. I can't use PayPal. Right?

P.S. Promoted Forum Coin by tweeting this, Figured some "outsiders" might want to get in on this.

You will need what is called a "wallet" to store your Bitcoin. While many people don't really recommend online wallets, for small amounts they are fine and far easier than other more secure methods. Basically an online wallet is like a PayPal account without all the need to give out personal information (does depend on what wallet you use though) and allows you to receive, store and spend/transfer bitcoin.

Personally I use blockchain.info but you can see a list of others here ---> https://www.bitcoin.com/choose-your-wallet?category=web

Definitely read up on it. How Bitcoin works in the technical aspect is complicated and even after a year I don't fully understand it but the important aspects to read about is about transfer fees and how they are calculated and about the risks with Bitcoin and why the price in the past has risen sharply but also fallen sharply. My advice would be to not treat is like an investment unless you like risks. Personally I think it is better to treat it as some fun that may eventually make you some decent money or if anything bad does happen, you won't have lost much and what you have lost will kind of feel worth it for the fun of learning something new.
