Mostly I do not use share auto other transport to reach small distances like 1 km if there is no weight in my hands. When ever and where ever possible i walk.

I also do quite a bit of walking and go for a walk about four days per week. Up until a couple of months ago, I was walking over 30 KMs per week, however I've reduced my walking now and am doing somewhere between 15 and 20 KM per week, but am building it up again.

Walking really is very healthy exercise, it is good for the body and the mind and is a great way to get outside and get some fresh air.

Hi Fergal,

Just like you I am also walking in between 15 to 20 km per week, if i am out side my place. I may not walk that much because I do not have any work out side.

Hi jacktheking,

Walking is good habit, now a days people are using vehicle to cover small distances. That's why the price of the petrol are increasing day by day.

Hi Jordandd,

Thanks for the compliment, surely I may walk at least 2 km per day. First time from Railway station I walked to my house on last Friday.

Walking is a good way to relax, in addition also helps for those who are dieting to lose weight, I wish I had more time to walk, but much work is impossible :(

Last year I had a really good routine where I was walking all the time. Almost daily or at very least 3 times a week. And the days I didn't walk I did a cardio workout video and Zumba video on Youtube. I really need to get doing this stuff again. Since working at home I gained some weight as well so getting back on track would be nice.

I used to walk for 30 minutes daily but now a days stopped it due to health issues. Doctors adviced me to stop walking at once as my knee bone is worn out and severe pain is there so if i walk or climb the staircase or sit on the floor with folded legs, the problem will be further more worsened .

Though doctors advised me not to go for walk, i will do little walking but not brisk walk . I walk slowly and just for 10 mts. so that knees should not be strained

I tend to prefer walking over public transport and even if it takes me 15-20 minutes longer to get somewhere. Last year I used to walk through the local forest every day for up to 4 hours but I rarely find time to do so since I got the new job that doesn't give me much free time.

Walking is really good for alround health . Even doctors advice sugar and heart patients to walk daily for 30 mts to keep fit . It also prevents obesity
