I don't about the rest of you guys but I am still shocked that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner filed for divorce! And now, another couple (Gavin and Gwen divorce article here) did it, too! I really thought these couples would last. I am sooo affected I don't know why! What can you say about the divorce rate in Hollywood? Am I the only one who thinks there are just so many couples calling it quits these days? I wonder who's next to file for divorce?!

I was shocked by the news of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner getting a divorce too but again we need to get real since they are a Hollywood couple. At least Will Smith has just made a statement and said he has no plan to divorce his wife, and if he does he'll be the one who makes that announcement.

marriage is hard enough so a Hollywood marriage has even more pressure. if both are famous they will be apart making movies so they will grow distant, on sets actors develop feelings for co stars they are making movies with. the best Hollywood marriages are with one famous spouse and the other staying home with the kids.

Yeah but they look so good together! And now that you mention it, Will Smith's marriage has been under so much scrutiny the past months as well. I hope that his statements are real and not just to save face!

I think these marriages started for wrong reasons.If people get into relationships for cerebrity status,it is bound to break in real life.

I saw it mentioned today that Halle Berry is on her way to divorce number three. Not sure if it's true or not, but be on the look out.

I like Gavin and Gwen even before they got married. It was quite a shock although anything could happen. I think this is not about where they are it is about being able to live together despite their differences.

I've heard about Will and Jada since last year I think but they deny the rumors. They are definitely one of Hollywood's power couples. Hope it's really just a rumor.

I guess I am never surprised about celebrity divorce, because we don't know them at all, you don't know what happens behind closed doors with them. What you see of them in movies is not real life. They have problems the rest of us have and even more so as they have money and money mishandling of money leads to issues. As with drugs and alcohol with them.

I don't think that these divorces are unusual, there are lots of non-celebrity couples who have marriages end after a similar number of years. It's the ridiculously short marriages (like Lisa Marie Presley and Nicolas Cage, who only lasted 4 months, or Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman, who only lasted 9 days!) that raise my eyebrow.

I think marriage nowadays is more like a materialistic agreement than a love affair, it is very rampant in Hollywood and getting out of hand. i really got affected with Babyface's divorce i never imagined.

I can understand why some couples go on separate ways but the increased rate of divorce is quite alarming! It is a sad to see couples going on separate ways. What's more worrisome is how it affects the kids. Will they grow up not believing in love and marriage at all because of that? Will they end up getting divorced, too? Who knows!

I'm not so sure that it's an increased rate of divorce. People have been getting divorced for decades, centuries even. Just because we have a celebrity consumed culture and have access to their lives 24/7 doesn't mean that there's a sudden spike in people getting divorced. We just have more information at our fingertips.

What do you expect from Hollywood stars? Is this new? I think they are bad influence for people because they just take marriage like a game that you can change your husband or wife anytime you want. What? I think they are insane and just lonely people and truly justified that "Money can't buy Happiness" Get some life!

I'm never really that shocked when Hollywood couples head for splitsville. Some of them have got married for the wrong reasons anyway, including publicity. Plus most of them have very big egos, and there's a power struggle going on. I never really bought into the Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck thing, because it seemed to me that Ben Affleck was on the rebound from Jennifer Lopez.
