It is the mango season here at the moment

Eating a mango is pretty clumsy No matter how you try there will be juice running down and messing your clothes Having said that to relish a mango one should not bother about the clumsiness but just enjoy and this one can do when no one else is around

If you want to have company then what you see in the photo is the way to go You can also add a bit of cream.

Lol mango is one fruit i can never eat in public. But am curious, how did you slice the mango like that? What about the seed?

We have a ball scooper and yes the sides of the mango stone are scooped out and the pulp placed beneath the balls

My preferred way used to be to eat by pressing the pulp out and eating it.
But I did keep a plate below to avoid too much spillage.
It was not nice looking but a great and tasty way !

The first time I tasted mango ice cream, it was homemade. I was about 6 ot 7 years old and amazed at all of the wonders of this world. OK. First, I didn't even know you could make your own ice cream. But my mom made mango ice cream! Oh, what a wonderful world.

We always ate our mangos very ripe. But then I discovered that either the Filipinos or the Vietnamese have a recipe where they use green mango. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks delicious.

I halve the mango, cutting off the extra bits around the seed to eat as well, then dice each half without removing it from the peel (If I was going to use the diced pieces in a salad or something I'd flip the skin inside out and then separate the cubes from the skin with a knife, if I'm just going to eat it I don't do that step) then eat it with a spoon. That way it's easy to eat (no need for a melon baller, it's already in little chunks) and the juice doesn't get on my hands, which is good because I am allergic to it (if it gets on my skin it burns, though weirdly I can eat it just fine).

Eating a mango in style is pretty elaborate and is normally done when there are guests around A touch of whipped cream does add to the elegance and taste.

Mangoes are a delicacy whether it is a raw Mango or a ripened Mango. There are many varieties of Mangoes and it is grown in full in summer season in India although some other varieties yield fruits throughout the year.

Is it an easy process to pickle them?

Not easy at all. You need to chop the green mangoes in to pices salt them, dry them and then make the pickle using masala, and temper with mustard and vinegar. One also makes minced mango picke, sweet mango pickle...............
