The US Space Force is deploying two new ground-based systems,
"Meadowlands" and the "Remote Modular Terminal (RMT)," to tackle surveillance from Chinese and Russian spy satellites. These defensive tools are smaller, more mobile, and designed specifically to interfere with hostile signals, not cause physical destruction. Moving past older systems, these units can be controlled remotely, offering flexible response capability.
This strategic push is a direct counter to Beijing's expanding fleet, which includes over 510 military intelligence satellites. Space Force's Gen. Bradley Chance Saltzman stated this growth poses a "powerful destabilizing force" to US national security.
