Postby Spontaneo » 24 Jun 2025, 03:56

Do any of you wear eyeglasses?

If so, what do your eyeglasses look like?

Fancy? Plain?

What color?

Yes. I wear glasses for distance- I don't need them for reading or seeing things up close, but for say, seeing a TV or movie screen properly, reading street signs, recognising someone's face when they're maybe 10 meters away etc. They're plastic frames, and they are bright purple. I used to have smaller wire framed ones but big bright frames seem to be trendy now and they didn't have any like my old ones when I last went to get a new pair. I like them though.

I need them for reading and for working on my computer. My eyesight is getting worse as I get older and it is becoming more difficult to read text without my glasses. I don't bring my glasses when going to a restaurant and I can usually manage to read the menu. However, if the font on the menu is particularly small, I can't read it at all.

I had an eye doctor appointment this past Tuesday and was told that I need eyeglasses. The eye doctor asked myself if bifocals would be OK. I said yes. She (the eye doctor) told myself that I need to be careful when walking up and down stairs while wearing the eyeglasses.

She is very very pregnant (due next Tuesday) and could not wait for the day to end.

The frames that I chose are kind of red yet kind of burgundy. The rest of the eyeglasses are clear.

The glasses should be ready in a week or 2.

Do any of you wear eyeglass chains or necklaces to have your eyeglasses wrapped around your neck?

I don't wear eyeglasses right now. But, I’ve seen some cool styles out there. Some people keep it simple, others go all out with bold frames.

I am not satisfied.

Too late now.

When I was choosing eyeglasses, I wanted a pair that had wide frames. I have a small face and the eyeglasses looked cute.

A friend was with myself and she used peer pressure with the technician too to get small frames.

Yes. My glasses are for distance so I need to take them off to read or look at something up close. I keep them on a chain so I don't lose them when I have to take them off for a minute.

Yes, that is what I had meant. I do not want to lose the eyeglasses. The eye doctor said that the eyeglasses might be a problem going up and down steps. :( :(

I find mine a little tricky when going up and down steps. You will get used to it though. Keep a hand on the railing if you are worried.

Lasik surgery is in trend among people who prefer a more natural look without the need for glasses or contact lenses.

I'd take a couple of days to see if it gets better when you get used to them. If it doesn't improve, go back because your prescription may not be right.
