Terrorists and Terror is not just a bottle that can be just emptied and buried.
Nor is it just about a count of Men or Weapons.
It is a disgusting ideology of hate that keeps on raising its head again and again.
During the past few years, tourism had been growing a lot in Jammu & Kashmir in Northern India.
Yes, the same Kashmir which has been a conflict point between India and Pakistan.

Unable to win wars against India including the back in the stab action in Kargil in treacherous Mountains of Northern Kashmir area, Pakistan and its Intelligence agency ISI has been doing big terror attacks and incidents:

Indian Parliament attack 2001
Mumbai terror attack 2008
Pathankot Indian Air Force base 2016
Uri Indian army camp 2016 - retaliation in form of surgical strike
Pulwama 2019 - a convoy of Indian security forces damaged in a suicide car attack and many died and injured - India responded with Balakot Air Strike in late Feb 2019.


Our neighbor Pakistan has been suffering from economic distress, insurgency and unrest in Sindh and Balochistan provinces and an image crisis of the dominant Army.

Yet it persists with dastardly actions and terror supports.

So we again have an attack and not on Indian security forces or army but on innocent tourists visiting Baisaran - a meadow in Pahalgam in South Kashmir region.
Plus this time, people were asked their religious identity and killed based on that.
26 civilians killed. Many with children big & small. A young women recently married widowed.
Sooner or later the terrorists would be apprehended or killed but the question is much bigger.

What now?

Could an all out war happen?

India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty, with little short term implications but in the longer term, Pakistan's agriculture would suffer as well as its cities.

Yet when would this reign of Terror, Terror funding and support end?
When would the real masterminds of all this come to their senses and let peace and calm prevail in the world?

If you randomly ask Indian citizens right now, many would favor all out war even if it turns nuclear.

Of course, we understand that the Government would take well thought steps.

US, UAE and Saudi Arabia would be tested in their diplomacy.

When I saw that on the news this week, I was saddened to see another conflict erupting. I heard the 26 fatalities were tourists and locals. Such a tragedy. So these terrorists, who were they really after, Muslims or what?

Really unfortunate and tragic targeted killing. These were state sponsored Islamic terrorists and sponsored by our "peaceful" neighbor !!

It's very sad to see this and it is worrying to think there could be a war between India and Pakistan. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail and peace can be achieved. It's many years since I was in India, but my understanding at the time was that Kashmir was a beautiful place to visit, but also a dangerous place. Apparently, tourists occasionally went missing and disappeared while travelling in that area.

During the peak of Terrorism in Kashmir in 1990s, there was the case of kidnapping of six western tourists.
One was beheaded and and others were not found.

Yet this time it was open and targeted killing in a way of psychological war.
It might sound aggressive but India has shown restraint.
If such an attack had happened on US or Israel, by now there would have been an all out war and at a very big scale.
For International media, it is just one event but for us, it is a dare to our ways of Life based on democratic rights, development and individual freedom.
Yes, war is bad but sometimes, if war is a side effect of aiming for justice, it needs to be done.
