Disappointed with My Investment

Postby cinderella » 18 Mar 2025, 05:10

In 2021, I decided to try investing in bonds, index fund and multi-asset income fund through an online app. I am also using the app with my online savings. After more than 3 years, I checked my account only to find out that I loss from the investment. For 3 years, my money had decreased instead of increasing and having a profit. It was not a big loss but considering the time, I am expecting a growth on my investment. Of course what I think at first was I should have invested the amount in crypto or maybe I could have earned something if I put in in savings account.

Well, anyway, at least I know what type of investment I should avoid in the future. I will just withdraw the amount and use it to invest in crypto.

Yes, not all investment will turn out to be profitable. Nevertheless, we should keep on finding good investment options to see what will work for us best. It is also one example that we shouldn't put all our eggs in one basket.

So sorry about that, i have also had my share of failed investments, i guess the best thing about issues like this is the fact that we got to learn something from the experience.

It's okay. That's life's reality. Not every action we make will bring good result. Some might failed but we need to continue and learning. Anyway, I haven't lost the whole investment. it is just that after several years, my money is decreasing instead of going up. There is still time to get the money and transfer it to a more profitable investment.

There's always a risk to investing, but if you are investing in the correct fund, 3 years is not that long. The S&P 500 index fund has an average of 10% annual return. Also the past 3 years have not been that good for the economy which could explain why your investment lost value. If you wait until the stock market is back up, you will see your gains. One of the biggest mistakes people make in investing is selling too early.

Ultimately, it is up to you though.

You don't have to be disappointing with your investment all you need is if a particular business which you are operating is not functioning you have to work towards improving the quality of that business rather than given up so I think am investing and am okay with my investment

Yes, there are several factors affecting the investment like the economic situation in our country. These are just among the investments I tried several years ago and these are only small amounts. I am just comparing with my other investments which had gained 6 to 7 per cent per annum for the past 3 years. I can just pull out the investment and add it to my other existing investment.

Yes, I already pulled out the investment and invested the amount on cryptocurrency on the same platform. I will try again this time and let's see if it will grow this way.

Every investment is a risk. There are chances that it might fail or might not live up to expectations. Take the lesson and move.

Yes there is risk in every investment. I just tried those types of investment just to have an idea and to learn more. I also have other investments which are doing well. Though that was just a small amount and I was able to transfer the fund into another investment which is making good as of this time.

Every investor goes through ups and downs; the important thing is to adapt and refine your strategy based on what you’ve learned.
