Best Batteries To Purchase

Postby Spontaneo » 26 Jan 2025, 00:57

What is your opinion?

My roommate only uses Duracell and Energizer batteries. She refuses to use any other.

Myself? I use Dollar Tree batteries, good and inexpensive.

Do you have a preference?

There are many brands of batteries but there are also different quality levels. Basic batteries may be cheaper, but they don't last as long regardless of brand. Alkaline batteries usually last far longer than the basic battery.

Duracell and Energizer are considered high quality batteries. The lesser known Rayovac offers a similar long life service. It is a good idea to put the date of installation on a sticker affixed to the batteries when you install them so you can actually know how long they last.

I happen to use Rayovac because they were slightly cheaper than the others but I still got a full year service out of batteries used in a lantern I use daily. No way to know that without the label.

Choose an alkaline battery and label them when installed so you can see the actual lifespan of whatever you use. I suspect you will see many more months of service from the alkaline batteries no matter what brand it is.
