A Brief Talk => My First FC Session with my new Home Laptop

Postby ptrikha21 » 28 Nov 2024, 18:09

So finally after many many years and intense search across many vendors, shops, Online search, I am today logged on to FC with my new Laptop.
This one is Intel 13 Gen one from HP.
I would try to bring out a new post on this one in detail in some time.
I now have the needed RAM to work more efficiently and achieve more in lesser time.
Plus more things as well.

Congratulations on your new computer. I have gone through the same trials many times with maybe a couple dozen new computers over the years. It can be frustrating to find some features that you have used for years no longer work after such a change.

Some time tested and favorite programs may still work, but no longer function as they did. You either have to learn the new shortcuts and operating keys or you may end up changing to a new program that works with the latest new computer. It can drive you nuts at times, especially if your old version holds a lot of data that may or may not convert.

It can also be a big surprise to find some new program that comes along with the new computer that will change how you do some things.

The biggest headache is that most new computers come along with a pile of third party programs they use to offset the retail price. I have found installed programs that came along with viruses, spyware and other vicious add-ons you should not ever expect. Be on the lookout for those and get them deleted as soon as possible.

Be patient. The learning curve for me has been about 6 months with each upgrade before I felt comfortable with the latest new computer. Have fun!

Overall performance and look and feel is better for HP than Dell.
If however, one wants Screens that look better, one can go for Dell.

Yes, I am enjoying it.
Handling of heating could have been a bit better but still other benefits outweigh the slight heating.
and well, still, heating is way below what I had with my older personal laptop.
