At What Age Did you Realize that in Cricket they shift ends after every Over?

Postby JASPREET » 27 Nov 2024, 08:15

I was not having any clue about it and was thinking there is some technology that changes the Advertisement paint and boards after every over until I saw a match in which there was no advertisement breaks LOL and there I saw players change ends and I have personally asked many that are following cricket from years and are not aware of it LOL.

This is not something that I was aware of. I've never really watched much cricket, so have very little understanding of the rules.

I think from the starting- may be from 7 / 8 years of age, I was aware of this.
Remember this was the year 1984/85.
At that time, another interesting aspect was that the TV broadcast camera used to be at a fixed position, at least in India.
So in one over, we were seeing a batsman from front.
In another over, from behind.

It was sorted in the broadcasts in Australia.
You may watch some early 1980s matches videos of matches held in India.

Yes, even though the technology and the transmission resolution is not good as it is for today's 1080 P and HD ones, there is a certain charm and excitement in watching those.
