I don't mind smartphones in gyms if they're only used for listening to music or podcasts while working out. However, I strongly oppose the presence of influencers with tripods filming their workouts for social media. It's frustrating to be treated as a background character in someone else's vlog or to be asked to vacate equipment for their videos.

Additionally, it's irritating when individuals attempt to monopolize locker room space for filming. These wannabe fitness influencers disrupt the gym environment. Therefore, I believe phone cameras, tripods, and selfie sticks should be banned in gyms to maintain a private space for those focused on working out rather than creating content. BOTH men and women!

At least they shouldn't be recording while the gym is packed. They could ask the manager for permission when the gym is closed or about to close.
I understand they need to create content and perhaps they can't afford to own a gym or rent one for a few videos, but acting as if they own the whole place is way too much. I agree with you on that.

That is very true because they have to seek permission before into gull swing to have other people feature in the videos without their consent. So it is way better if they get to record away from a normal session when it is a fully packed gym.

True gym bros and sisses are always supportive towards the newbies.

Yeah, I think there is a strong case to be made for banning filming in gyms. There have been cases where people were in the background of a video by an influencer and ended up with their video online against their wishes. One of the reasons I don't go to a gym is that they are unfortunately often full of judgey people, plus often there are sleazy guys in mixed gyms (though to be honest it's mainly the cost that puts me off)

One thing is sure though. I won't vacate a gym I have paid membership for because of some influence. That's bad business in itself for the gym owners.

One can be allowed phone inside a Gym, but only for Text Messaging or phone call.
Vlogging, video recording should be restricted.

Allowing the use of phone cameras inside gyms can be an invitation for some unscrupulous elements to take pictures that would be used for blackmail ans body shaming.

Gyms should have a strict policy against using phone cameras for anything other than personal use. It disrupts the workout environment for others and also invades their privacy.
