VAR checks affect the game in such a way that active play is interrupted while players wait for the check. Players also know how to fake an injury to steal some time.



The new rules bring a higher compensation in order to take as little time as possible from the active game, so our time compensations have become bigger and bigger. This was best seen at the World Championship in Katra, where compensation times were very often over 7 minutes.



Individuals want as much active play as possible, but certain groups believe that this makes football very robotic and that some of the charms that used to define and make it interesting are lost.

Well, some teams waste a lot of time and referees get a little extra time. I do not like this. In the Qatar World Cup, referees used to take a lot of extra time. I like this more

Extra time have correct title added time, also called injury time or stoppage time. Biggest added time was 28 minutes in Carabao cup (England) between Burton Albion and Bournemouth in 2019.

What do you think A.I should calculate every lost seconds and add it? This way game will not lose any second but it will lose his charm. Imagine result is 6-0 and A.I say plus 90+10min.

It is more frustrating waiting VAR decision. Some players say they don't even celebrate goals like before because of all posible reviews.

But sport was never robotic and this turned it into it. Sometimes 2-3 millimeters decide goal which was not case before. People are not precise so much, only robots.

I think knowing how to waste time and when to waste is part of the strategy.
And I like the VAR as it decreases the risk for referees of being insulted or assaulted for the wrong decisions. Actually, I think extra time should be heavily regulated as well, recalling what happened in Turkey not a long ago. Guess I'm very concerned about safety.
Personally, I don't want extra time to be longer than 10 minutes.

I agree with this. Every club when have goal in advantage waste time. It is natural move and maybe this should be tolerated. Also there is maximum time how much player can take before turning ball back in field, hand or free kick.

Honestly football has changed, additional 8 extra time could be added and it would play till 9 or 10 mins. It happened between Chelsea and Manchester united.
