Interesting, I didn't know Julius had that origin.
The first results gave me "devoted to Jove/Jupiter" but it doesn't make much of a difference. It's always that "Ju" you'd get from reading YHWH with no extra vowels. For some unknown reason I think that's the correct way to pronounce that name, not Yahweh nor Jehovah, but Y(o)u.
And yeah, Jove/Jupiter is the god of the skies.
I should add that name to the list of baby names I'd use, though here Giulio/Giulia is already a very common name.
It reminds me more of jolly, like merry. Or even the French joli/jolie (pretty). These words have supposedly another root, more German, strange stuff.
