"Deodorant" comes from a wordroot that means "Off- or Down From-Odor" (like Deodorants, Deodorizers, Deodorizer, Deodorize, Deodorized, Deodorizing).
"Odor" comes from wordroots that mean "to Smell"---also the wordroot of Odoriferous, Odorous, Odour, Odours.
"Antiperspirant" is obviously 'putting the prefix Anti- on the word "Perspire"'---which comes from a wordroot that means "to Breathe-, Blow-Through (see Spirit)"---the same root as "Perspiration, Perspires, Perspired, Perspiring."

The word "Rumor" comes from a wordroot that means "Noise, Clamor, Common Talk, Hearsay, Popular Opinion (related to words that mean Hoarse, to Bellow)"---just like Rumors, Rumored, Rumoring, Rumour, Rumours, Rumoured, Rumouring, RumorMonger, Rumorous (which actually just meant "Making a Loud, Confused Sound"), RumorMonger.

I wonder what else there is to find out about Brad :?: That YouTube-search also revealed 'the rumor of the Kickapoo Chief's death.'

I use natural deodorant, without chemicals including aluminum. Antiperspirant is the worst you can use, it doesn't let your skin breathe and you accumulate lots of toxins.
