83 Year Old Lady Completes Tough Mudder Race

Postby Fergal » 30 May 2022, 07:56

I love stories about older people achieving cool things, especially feats that we are inclined to believe are only possible for younger people. The older I get the more I love these stories, there is hope for me yet :)

The 83 years young lady Mildred Wilson, from Missouri in the US recently completed a tough mudder 5k race. She is the oldest person to have ever competed in a 5k tough mudder event, which included a dash through high voltage electricity, climbing a 12 foot ladder and an ice bath.

In my tennis club we have ex doctor 60 years old who won much younger players. I manage took him only 2 gems. He start play tennis with 50 years but in his 60s he can run almost as young people. With his calmness and experience we don't have chance against him.

60 isn't old anymore! :) I'm 55 and I go on 3 mile hikes daily.

As far as the OP, I think that's great the lady was able to do something on her bucket list. I have high competitive friends who do Tough Mudder and I can see them joining in as they age and then complain online about their aches and pains later ;)

This story is incredibly motivating. Some people's issue is that they make quick judgments about the geriatric. My family and I admire our 104-year-old grandmother. She still has a sharp mind compared to some adults who have trouble remembering things.
