What happend with young and new players in tennis?

Postby mrki444 » 22 Oct 2020, 18:53

If you follow tennis you did probably notice how few players are for several years on top and nobody new or younger didn't join. Novak Đoković (33), Rafael Nadal (34) and Roger Federer (39) are kings of tennis courts too long for some people. Like almost 20 years. Non of younger players didn't join them or took their place. There was some winnings against them but nothing stabile. Some people think now tennis is boring.
Tennis is individual sport so many people think this three show how good preparations, food and training can affect on player. They don't depend on other team players like in basketball or football.

What do you think about this situation? Why younger players can't beat them and get their level?

True, in women category many players change often place. Nobody is stabile to keep first place but it means competition is good.

I think newspapers and social media to much build story about new players. When ever they make some good score, they call them like next Nadal or Serena but they never done not even half succes.

It is because they're not as experienced as those people. They've undergone many things in Tennis

True but Novak, Nadal and Federer also were kids and didn't have experience. But when they take out trone they didn't let it go. New players take one victory against them and then they don't winn any better player for months.

I think it all comes down to experience and how fit they are, they have basically been playing for a long time so I don't think a young player can just come out of nowhere and take their place.

You need Young Blood for a guaranteed future of the sport. Women's tennis have lots of Young Blood which means the sports is in good hands but Men's tennis is filled with men in their 40s. The sports needs more Young men to stay relevant. Those guy on their 40's will be retired 10 years from now.

They should already be retired but they keep stay on top. Before they would not manage last so long on top. If they still play it would be ok, but they are still on top and nobody can't reach them.

Not many players have indeed come to replace these top 3 or may be they are not that consistent enough. May be we would see some changes in the coming two years or so.

We will but only from reason top 3 will be to old. Human body just can't work all time in same power. They will not be better than older crew will become slower.

Those three tennis great are on top of their game all the time, it will be hard for one to eclipse them so soon. So the younger ones should train very hard, follow their training routine or train more than expectations to climb above them in the leaderboard.
