Did some cleaning and cooking today. It was a quiet day in the absence of football, sadly :(

There is a cyclone warning here (there may be one here by Thursday) so we are trying to prepare by bringing in any loose stuff in the yard and making sure we have some water stored.

People here are getting pretty anxious about the cyclone, which is due to hit on Thursday morning. There is expected to be a lot of heavy rain and flooding. I live on a hill so our house won't flood but if it's as bad as last time we will likely lose power and might not be able to get to places (shops, work, school) for a few days. Fingers crossed.

I hope it does not get so bad for you, take care.

It's expected to stay hot here and will be sunny for the rest of the week

Yesterday was very busy, moving stuff inside, taping windows etc. in preparation for the cyclone. Currently it looks like it will hit in the early hours of tomorrow morning but we will see. I'm working for home for the next couple of days because all the schools here are closed.

I'm still working from home today. I had hoped I'd be more productive without the distractions of the office around me while I do my planning for next week but my family are equally noisy. Oh well. At least here I can get up and stretch and make tea, or go and hug my pets whenever I want.

Thanks. As of this morning, it looks like the cyclone has passed us by. It did some damage on the Gold Coast, but has changed direction now. That's a relief!

I'm sick with a cold today. It looks like the place where I work may be closed tomorrow so maybe it's for the best that I'll get an extra day of rest. It's raining a lot here, and there may be more flooding.

Today I didn't have a lesson on a Sunday in ages and it felt good because I could just chill. I only had a trial lesson, which went very well, with the student booking lessons straight after. After that, I did some editing work and went for my evening walk.

I am 5 ft 1 in tall. Today, I was at the store to buy tea bags. (I have got to have my sweet tea!)

The boxes of tea bags were clear on the top shelf and shoved so that they could hardly be seen.

I asked a worker to get 2 boxes down for myself. So, she did and then she just left the rest of the boxes the way that they were, shoved and not visible!

Iced tea season is here and she just might be out of some sales.

That's pretty slack of her. I'm short too, and it gets annoying when things are on high shelves.

I had a stressful day at work. It's been wet so we had to keep all the children indoors and they get cabin fever and go a bit crazy. We did do lots of painting though, so that was fun.

I have a Crock-Pot on of German Potato Salad With Hot Smoked Sausage! I have 3 hours to go until finished! I am hungry!

I am not of German descent, but the dish is really good! Some people like kielbasa with their German Potato Salad.

I have pitchers of sweet tea prepared.
