I admire these people. If I were in a wheelchair, I don't think I would have the courage to participate in a sports competition.

The Paralympics is awesome. I'm fascinated by the archery.

It's not just wheelchairs, there are people with all kinds of disabilities.

Why not? I'm not good enough at any sport to compete internationally but the paralympians are athletes. In the words of a champion paraplegic skier "What am I going to do? Hurt myself so badly that I can walk again?"

Paralympics competitors wins the same medals as The competitors in Olympics. So its recognized.

I wasn't saying it's not recognised, just that it's a separate important event. The 'para' part is actually short for 'parallel', meaning it runs in parallel to the Olympics.
