Re: People online are simping for this Assassin

It's a scary world we live in these days, where people openly and proudly support killers. Something similar happened here in my country, where a guy killed his so called girlfriend, and some guys are saying they are proud of him, like seriously?

We were already aware that the insurance companies have been screwing over people for decades. Individuals have been fighting with insurance companies for a long time.

arunima wrote:Can policies go so inhuman to provoke these kinds of action?

YES. Even so, the anger is justified, but the killing is NOT.

arunima wrote:Can citizens who take law in their hands ve celebrated like heroes?

YES. They can be celebrated. But they shouldn't be!

arunima wrote:It's tricky situation

It's not really tricky. The insurance companies KNOW what they're doing and they KNOW IT'S WRONG! But they also know the average insurance policyholder does not have the wherewithal to fight back!

So one of the CEOs got shot. Do you think the other CEOs are all that rattled about it? NOT! As long the bullets didn't hit them, they will carry on with business as usual. They got enough money to hire bodyguards. The expense on their financial statement that reflects paying for security? It's just the cost of doing business.

Luigi Mangione didn't accomplish anything!
He ain't no hero. He's just an angry person who used violence that didn't result in anything fruitful or productive.

A lot of us are angry!
Should we all go around shooting people in the back that we think are at fault or caused the problem that made us angry?

He just sent a message to his fans and thanked them for all the support he gets, both vocal and financial. There is now a cult that worships him.

Luigi Mangione is indeed a controversial figure. He was an electric car and robotics engineer who became infamous for the assassination of Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, in December 2024. Mangione's actions were driven by his frustration with the U.S. healthcare system, which he believed was failing many Americans. His case has sparked a lot of debate and has brought attention to the issues within the healthcare industry.

It's important to remember that while his actions have highlighted significant problems, violence is never the answer. Constructive dialogue and systemic change are the ways to address such issues.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The incident has brought a lot of attention and publicity to the issue. Other health insurance companies will experience at least some pressure to be more just to their clients. I also suspect that family members of senior managers will have concerns and will be discussing the implications with them.

Reality check: The mob is fickle. Mangione will be forgotten and the issue will be brushed under the rug. >>> AGAIN! As I indicated - this is it NOT "new news". People have been wrangling with insurance companies for a long time. However, the insurance industry has active political lobbyists. Mangione needn't look for Trump to pardon him, because he isn't one of Trump's boyz. Although Trump may do it if he thinks it will make him look good in the media to Mangione's worshippers. UGLY WORLD WE LIVE IN.

(I am getting so cynical.)

@cmoneyspinner. I agree with each and every concern that you have raised. And I am on the same page of thoughts as you. We all have faced unfair share of laws and policies. But that doesn't justify taking law in your hand. This can be glorified in movies, but doing so in real world and society is going to make things more chaotic. If every common people start taking revenge in this way rising above law, society would be a bloodbath. I am not in support of it. By this logic, even terrorism will be justified.

We just had a shooting in one of our schools. AGAIN!

Police got a call about a person wanting to commit suicide. That person shot 7 police officers.

Trump just released 1500 prisoners who participated in the Jan 6 riot. The first thing one of them said when he got out was that he was going to buy guns.

They have disqualified themselves. Our jury selection process is supposed to choose objective jurors able to weigh all the evidence and testimony, without prejudice. The fact that they are sympathizers indicates they won't be FAIR and IMPARTIAL. But hey! They could go ahead and try to get on the jury. A lot of things in our justice system are not FAIR and JUST. Jury selection can be tampered with.

Anyway! UHC has a new CEO and it's back to business as usual!

The case will probably be dismissed by the Dept of Justice.

I have no faith in American justice now that Musk and Trump have a chokehold on this country.

No he won't. Trump is dismantling our justice system. He'll be grateful the courts couldn't convict him.

It doesn't matter which political party he wins against.

At this very moment, in our nation's history... ALL AMERICANS ARE LOSERS!

It's a painful reality.
