We had one last hurrah with the kids at the local waterpark before they started back to school. We picked a great day for it too, since it was 106°F that day! Being in the water kept us from being so miserable from the heat.

Honestly I'm really glad it's coming to an end. I had only 1 week holidays and it was great fun at the sea but the rest of it was just sitting at work or at home enduring unbelievably high temperatures. Finally the weather is getting a bit colder.

I don't like time to rush by me, but I am glad summer is coming to a close, the heat at times has been unbearable for me.
Last big thing we are doing is a bbq, with some friends , some of the kids going away to college, so we will have a big bbq.
We will still bbq in the colder months, but just not with all the friends and family around, , there will be more fun times ahead.

I'm with you on being glad the heat is ending, Jinglebells. I am praying that we get some rain this winter, the drought has been devastating here. We haven't been able to bbq at all due to the risk of fire. It's strange to think that fall and winter will be our bbqing months.

We're actually just coming up to our summer here in Botswana. I like to hang out with friends and family, have a delicious bbq in someone's back yard. I also like to go to places where I can eat outside and people watch. Summers are very long in Botswana, and the heat very intense. Sometimes we joke that there's really only 2 seasons, summer and winter; with summer taking up 10 months of the year, and the winter only 2!
