I seriously doubt I would ever try any of these expensive options. I like chocolate but I'm not interested in spending an arm and a leg for it. The most expensive chocolate I have ever purchased is a chocolate wine and that was only $12 for the whole bottle. I'm too cheap to go beyond that for just a taste of chocolate. My palate can be satisfied with too many other options.

My current favorite is New Coast Peppermint Crunch Truffles, which are dark chocolate dusted with bittersweet cocoa and filled with rich, indulgent chocolate and peppermint bits. Their slogan is, "It's mint to be". They come from Canada.

Are they sold in the US or do you have to order online?

You make them sound so appealing, I doubt a professionaly copywriter could make me want to try them more :)

It's true. I tried to find them online but I ended up finding a recipe to make my own instead. :D

I found several similar truffles, but not an exact match. I guess I should feel intensely rewarded with such a unique gift to enjoy while they lasted.

There are some food and drink items that can not be duplicated. I used to like a drink called Vernor's Ginger Ale but for some reason they were no longer on the grocery shelf. For years I could not find it anywhere! Recently they started selling it again. But the original owners no longer make it. I have not tried it yet but I wonder of it will the same flavor.
