Yesterday I had:
Breakfast:
Two poached eggs (we were out of bread and I don't like scrambled eggs without toast), juice, black tea.

Lunch- Vitawheats (whole grain crackers) with avocado and tomato, and a handful of salted almonds. It was too hot to eat much.

Black tea

Dinner: Homemade baked beans on toast (bought some bread, yay!).

White wine (2 glasses)
Homemade cookie (double chocolate with ginger).

Re: Your Daily Meal Diary

Postby Spontaneo » 23 Dec 2024, 20:15

I kind-of forgot that today is Meatless Monday. I realized what this day is after I had a Hammy Sammy.

Hammy Sammy
bread pizza
Corn Chex cereal with fat free skim free milk
French fries

coffee
diet soft drink
diet Arnold Palmer (homemade)

I know... I am a bad, bad, girl. I am really craving sweet tea. So, I am going to prepare a pitcher or 2 then mix in some true lemon. Luckily, I already have 2 pitchers of unsweetened in the fridge waiting for myself to prepare sweet tea! Yay!

You can always have a meatless Tuesday instead. What's a Hammy Sammy?

Yesterday I had:
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, toast with Vegemite, juice, black tea.

Green tea

Lunch- Leftover homemade baked beans on toast

Dinner- A barbecue (sausages, onions, pineapple, tomato, mushroom, corn on the cob). A beer.
Homemade gingerbread. That was the last of it. I kinda want to make some more.

A Hammy Sammy is diced bologna and diced pickle mixed with mayonnaise on bread. Diced onion is optional. I dice with a Bella Chopper.

My diet these past 2 days has been a total disaster.

Yesterday, I had potato chips
bologna sandwich
maple sausage links that I did not microwave enough

Today I have had
potato chips
bologna sandwich
maple sausage links that I left in the microwave too much!
I had cheesecake compliments of my friends. The friends had ham. Yuck.

Gosh do I need a glass of wine.

Thanks for explaining. It's Christmas. Give yourself a break.

Yesterday was Christmas day. I had
Breakfast- fruit salad (with cherries, mango, lychees, grapes, banana and blueberries) and a handful of pepitas

Some potato chips and cashews while waiting for lunch to be ready.
2 glasses of sparkling wine.

Lunch- Mushroom Wellington, roast potato and sweet potato, green beans and carrots cooked in ginger, spicy chick peas.
Fruit cake.
Small glass of Port.

Black tea.
A couple of dates.

Dinner-
Leftover salad (I didn't have any at lunch because we had a lot of food), crackers with some fancy vegan cheese we got as a Christmas treat (smoked cheddar and truffle Brie, it's made from cashews I think).

We often have a vegetarian version.

Yesterday I had:
Breakfast- veggie sausages, 2 eggs with hot sauce, juice, black tea

Lunch- Leftover veggies (carrots, green beans and cauliflower in ginger). Too hot to eat much.

Dark chocolate with cherries
Black tea

Dinner- vegan mac and cheese, non alcoholic wine

Today I had:
Breakfast- baked beans, hash browns, juice, black tea

Lunch- leftover vegan mac and cheese, an apricot

Black tea

A beer

Dinner- Tagine (chickpeas, eggplant, soy fillets and some other stuff) with couscous, non alcoholic wine

Now I'm contemplating maybe some bourbon since I got some for Christmas.

Oh gosh...

My taste buds lately have been stubborn.

Yesterday, I had a Jif peanut butter and strawberry Smuckers jelly sandwich. I got nauseated and had to lay down for an hour.

Earlier today, I had coleslaw with dressing and the same affect.

I do not have an illness just not my favorite food.

So, tonight, I made one of my favorites! Crock-Pot candied hot smoked sausage! Delicious! I ate 2 links and the sausage was soft enough to chew! I have enough for tomorrow too!

There is something wrong with our electrical and have to wait until Monday for maintenance to take a look. So, guess what? No cooking.

grrrrr

Earlier, I had some hot smoked sausage that had been in the fridge from last night. Not that bad chilled. I could chew, yay!

I am just not sure what to have tonight?

There is no way that this girl is going to have a Peanut Butter and Jelly.

1. I might have some meat (pepperoni), cheese, crackers.
2. Then, maybe Slim Fast powder with either water or milk.
3. I know! A bologna sandwich! LOL

I splurged today. I am saving cookbook reviews to accomplish until late tonight.

I ate 2 Reeses potato chip chocolate big cups.

Then, I drank a Dunkin caramel iced coffee.

I am excited as I have a new blender and new groceries! Smoothies city!

I have been stocking up on cookies and preparing smoothies with cookies and milk. Lately, I have been preparing smoothies with Oreo cookies. Then, vanilla wafers. Next, Girl Scout thin mints.

BBQ (veggie sausages, mushroom, pineapple, corn on the cob, side garden salad
2 beers
Small piece of Baklava

I love baklava! I do not know how to prepare the pastry (I don't bake period) and the stores don't carry the pastry near here. I guess that I can shop online but baklava is sure to be expensive.

I've never baked it myself. We have a large Greek population in some parts of Australia so it's available in a lot of places here.

I submitted a cookbook review tonight about no-bakes! Guess what the cookbook contained? A recipe for Baklava Crispy Bars! No baking involved!

butter
honey
miniature marshmallows
ground cinnamon
grated lemon zest
oats and honey crispy cereal
chopped walnuts

That's it! Voila!

Interesting. Do you refrigerate them? Must be something like that to get them to stay stuck together.

Yesterday I had:
Breakfast: juice, black tea, scrambled eggs, toast with vegemite

Lunch- Jalepeno bread with strawberries and pepitas

Black tea

Dinner- pumpkin soup, toast, dolmades (but Lebanese ones so a bit different from the Greek ones I'm used to and they're probably called something different).
white wine
